If You Think You Know Arizona Living, Think Again.

Want to see Verrado, AZ the way the locals do?

Thirty minutes west of Phoenix sits Buckeye, Arizona—where the White Tank Mountains frame the horizon and every road feels like a welcome. This isn’t Scottsdale. And it’s not trying to be.

Verrado is something else entirely.

A place rooted in lifestyle, landscape, and legacy—all connected by golf cars, friendly waves, and a spirit that feels unmistakably its own.

A golf car community? Absolutely. But it’s also a place with heart. Where a simple wave isn’t just a greeting—it’s a reminder. A reminder that you’re home.

Across Verrado you’ll find:

  • 6 districts

  • 2 public golf courses

  • 5 schools

  • 26 miles of hiking and biking

  • 86 parks

And golf cars? EVERYWHERE!

This Is Verrado!

In this guide, we'll explore two of Verrado's defining districts, step inside a home in the heart of one of them, and take you to an annual event most visitors never see—one that brings thousands into the streets.

This is Verrado.
This is Golf Car Living.

The Victory District: Purpose-Built for What Comes Next

All the districts here have their own personality, but our first one sits above them all. The Victory District. Purpose-built for what comes next. A 55+ active adult community centered around the public Victory Golf Course, where elevated living, timeless homes, and resort-style amenities define the lifestyle. Since opening in 2016, multiple builders have been shaping this district. At completion, nearly 3,000 homes. Current prices—both new and resale—range from $360,000 to $1.7 million. To reach the heart of Victory, you head up Verrado's steepest hill—a climb golf cars make every day on their way to the Victory Club. Fitness, food, friends, and elevated Valley views you've earned—all in one place. While the Vic Bar and Kitchen and the valley views are open to the public, the pickleball and tennis courts, lap and lounge pools, and the world-class spa are for members only.

I wish I could take you inside—but privacy here isn't a perk—it's the promise. Also in the Victory District, you'll find the legendary and popular Victory Steps (or Stairs). This steep, intense climb features over 340 steps uniquely constructed from recycled railroad ties. Often referred to by locals as "Nature's Stairmaster" or even the "StairMaster of the West Valley," this grueling vertical climb is a favorite spot for locals. These steps are rated difficult and not recommended for inexperienced hikers, but the views at the top are totally worth the grind.

Be sure to bring plenty of water, especially during the warmer months. Leaving the elevated views of Victory, we head into a district built for everyday living—where walkability matters and convenience comes with a key.

Spotlight: A Home Worth Seeing

If you want a home that delivers true golf car convenience, this one does it effortlessly. Park your golf car in the three-car tandem garage, pull out onto the neighborhood streets, or walk straight to Main Street Square, Verrado's most popular gathering place.

My friend and Verrado resident, Michelle Seymour, opened the doors to this end-unit townhome: priced just over $500,000, offering more than 2,200 sq. ft., and located in the district where walkability and lifestyle go hand in hand. It's bright, low-maintenance, and ideal for lock-and-leave living—a setup that continues to attract snowbirds, investors, and anyone looking for a turnkey way to experience the Verrado lifestyle.

The Main Street District: Where Community Comes Together

Living in the Main Street District means having Verrado's most iconic destination—Main Street Square—right at your doorstep. Whether you're arriving by golf car or on foot, this district is where the community naturally comes together.

Restaurants, cafés, a grocery store, a pharmacy, and even lofts and apartments above the storefronts make this area lively from morning to night. It's walkable, friendly, and unmistakably small-town Americana.

I stopped for a quick bite at a local favorite—Tempo Urban Bistro—known for great food, cold beers on tap, a full bar, and big screens. It's a neighborhood go-to.

This district is also home to the Verrado Golf Club, Founders Park, and the brand new Sunrise Market—bringing even more excitement and convenience with its wine bar, coffee house, pilates studio, The Haymaker Restaurant, and more.

When it comes to real estate, Main Street District offers a wide range of options—from charming row homes to porch-lined single-family homes to custom properties just blocks from the Square. Current listings range from $419,900 to over $2.4 million, making it one of the most diverse and desirable areas in Verrado.

The architecture is warm and familiar, the streets are tree-lined and welcoming, and the mix of muscle cars and golf cars sharing the same roads gives this district its unique character. In Verrado, the old and new don't compete—they connect.

And yes, there are specific rules and laws for driving a golf car here. If you're new to the area—or considering a move—you can download my Verrado Golf Car Rules Guide (PDF) for a quick, clear overview of everything you need to know.

Once a year, the Main Street District transforms into a full-scale celebration for Founders Day. Not hundreds—but thousands—of residents fill this entire area. Live music, food trucks, local brews, and vendors line the walkways as the community turns out in full force.

And make no mistake—Founders Day isn't a neighborhood block party. It's a real concert experience with a full production stage, pro lighting, and major acts. This year, Patrick and the LVB Band opened for headliner Collective Soul. Over the years, artists like Rick Springfield, The Beach Boys, The B-52s, and more have taken this stage.

I was fortunate to be here—walking, talking, and rockin' Verrado. And I'm sold. I'll be back every March. Reach out if you want to join me.
